We worked with a non-profit organization that wanted to analyze if there was a coordinated campaign on Twitter spreading misinformation related to voter fraud in the 2018 elections. We integrated information from tweets, newspapers, and politician databases and applied time-series, network, and text analytics to uncover a nexus of 200 accounts that produced 140 million tweets in 3 months and were primarily responsible for the negative social media campaign. This was reported to Twitter and these accounts were subsequently disabled.
We worked with the US Navy to perform a technology gap analysis where the requirement was to identify defense-related technology areas in which the US needs to develop more intellectual property. We integrated public data from patent databases, newspaper databases, scholarly publications, Government research contracts, and created a Knowledge Graph as the result of the integration. Using the Knowledge Graph, we developed a new gap discovery algorithm to identify interesting combinations of technologies where new IPs could be developed.
